We have updated our submissions guidelines with new rates for some written articles.
Short articles such as Tales of Terror, Mysterious Manuscripts, and reviews now pay a flat $20, regardless of length. That’s not a great difference from before, except in the case of longer pieces — but we want to encourage short, sharp works of terror.
For the short fiction that we want for the Message In a Bottle, we now pay a cool $100. That’s a far higher per-word rate than anything else in the magazine, but the things we’re looking for are very specific and we want to encourage the best writers around — newcomers and established pros — to consider sending us their work.
